閱讀有感＂：國際知名的賽鴿家及育種家蓋諾斯鴿舍，它覺得它是個對鴿子有天賦的人，記得多年前麥克蓋諾斯是一個重視所謂眼誌的人，今年閱讀了訪談文章赫然發現一段內容有了一些選擇鴿子的想法或描述改變了，甚麼改變呢！我發現它是一個值得深思的修正, 原文是這樣的；share a part of article 採自賽鴿雜誌taking from Racing Pigeon Digest , Interview Mike Ganus by Brandon Brashears :........ At one time, many years ago, I believed that eye sign was important. I still believe in certain families if the winners have super eyes, then I believe the ones you want to buy must also have these eyes. But there are many families that do not show the eye sign, but these families win. What I am trying to say is if a certain family is dominating the race that you are interested in winning, or if these pigeons are from another country and are winning at the distance you are interested in, then select the pigeons that resemble the parents or the winners themselves. That is most important fact that I believe in eye sign. Much more important is knowing the background genetics and making sure you have a family that can fly the distance you want. I say it's like collecting stamps--some people prefer certain types. If you want birds that have beautiful eyes, breed from them. If you want pigeons that win races, breed from those............................
麥克蓋諾斯意思是這樣的，許多年前我相信眼誌非常的重要，我仍然相信如果冠軍鴿們牠的家族擁有超級眼誌，那麼你就要買這些一樣擁有超級眼誌的鴿子，但是有許多的賽鴿家族是沒有表現眼誌的，但是重點是他們也贏了，我想說的是如果一個家族的賽鴿主導整個賽事而是你有興趣的，或者這些鴿子是從另外一個國家贏得了你要的比賽距離, 那麼你就應該選擇購買贏的鴿子本身或跟贏鴿或其父母親看起來相似的鴿子。更重要的是這個家族的遺傳背景,是否有你要的飛翔距離，我是說它就像收集郵票一樣，有一些人喜歡某種類型，如果你想要美麗的眼誌就從美麗的眼睛去育種，但是如果你想贏就從可以贏的鴿子去育出.......以上發現了不一樣的地方是蓋諾斯從相信眼誌是很重要的到調整為如果家族的贏鴿是有超級眼誌就選擇一樣要有超級眼誌，但如果贏的賽鴿家族根本沒有表現眼誌，那眼誌就不是主要選擇的依據了，以上分享
